It was so fun! There is nothing more awesome than Tolkien and groups(gatherings?) of geeks, so when you put the two together you get the best thing ever.

And yes, that is completely correct. *mad, maniacal laughter*

"Stille nacht? Nacht is the German word for night, is it not?"
"It's nacht."
"Oh, it's not? I could have sworn it was nacht."
"It is nacht."
"Do you know what it is?"
"It's nacht!"
"Alright, but what's the German word for night?"
"It's nacht!!!"
"Ooooh!"

And that's pretty much how my day went.

One of my classes doesn't start until February for some random reason.

I'm not complaining.

Happy birthday Andrew! I'm not certain you actually come on these boards very often, so you may not see this, but happy birthday nonetheless!

Cross-dimensional travel is awesome!

I want to write an adventure about dimension-travelling. Every world could have it's own rules. Sci-fi and magic and regular old Joes...

I also need to actually finish something. Bah humbug...

You never have to be sad or stressed again if you just watch this was what I was going to say, but that sounds like I'm indicting you into some pseudo-religion or something.

So, this video makes me feel really nice all the time.

Singing Chicken

I also wanted to say that all of you wonderful boffins should be listening to a certain podcast called You Made it Weird with Pete Holmes, but saying someone should be watching/listening/partaking in something is wrong because it's x we're talking about. It's like going up to the wiseman in the mountains and asking him if he's watching Breaking Bad. Blah.

Anyways.

Enjoy.

Breaking news, Apple has announced it's latest product, scheduled to be released during the holiday season of 2013. It's the iPatch. The first iProduct aimed specifically at the growing pirate community. It comes pre-loaded with apps pirates will find particularly useful. The WhatToPillage app notifies the user whenever a locale worth pillaging is nearby. The user can set the minimal value the iPatch detects, so experienced pillagers won't have to deal with low end booty, and possibly gaining a bounty on their head with little gain. The RumFinder app displays directions to the nearest bottle of rum, so pirates will never wonder where the rum has gone again.

Only in sociology class would we learn about 'radical lesbian nuns.'

Yes, exactly what it sounds like. This class is pretty hilarious.

Oh! Oh! I learn about those too though! In Women in Art. A class that, predictably, has no male students and we spent the first ten minutes locked out of the classroom while our instructor went to find security, doing introductions in the hallway.

My professor: "This is just how most women in art classes start, locked out of the classroom in the hallway"

MY PROFESSOR IS SO SNARKY. She's awesome. She even has this totally snarky book required for the class. It's not even really a textbook. Just a snarky book.

Snarky professors can be awesome, as long as they don't overdue the snarkiness. I wish I had a hilarious teacher like that. I enjoy lectures by Prof Muttart, my PoliSci and Law from, but the textbooks are still pretty drab. Of course, law textbooks will always be drab, no matter how you dress them up.

My latest story [attempt] is inspired by elements from LotR, Kingdom Hearts, and The Elder Scolls.

At the dawn of time 144 worlds came into existence simultaneously. The leftover fragments of creation were forged into keys, which chose a strong soul from each world/universe/realm. These keys could open gates between the worlds, and the Key Bearers who wielded them were the greatest heroes and villains the worlds had ever known.

I don't know why there are 144 worlds. I just decided twelve squared would be a decent number. There's probably a 145th world, which is the actual afterlife and/or the deity's world.

Anyway, I keep saying ideas and not following through on them. It's probably best to ignore everything I say.

It's so fun! Zelda gets on my nerves a bit here and there (I like her best as either Tetra or Twilight Princess Zelda--but then again, characterization in Twilight Princess is top-notch) but overall, good stuff!

Skyward Sword was very good, although it would have been nice if the Sky was more like the sea in Wind Waker.

Well, bear in mind that Zelda is one soul reincarnated in a multitude of bodies. Her personality does change a fair bit between games. The Zelda in Twilight Princess was subject to a rather somber situation. Her kingdom had been usurped by Zant! Thus she was quite a bit more demure of disposition. Most incarnations of Zelda are generally happy and somewhat peppy.

I got annoyed with the Link and Zelda 'almost kissing' scenes the developers stuck in there just to tease shippers xD

Anyway, I need you to finish the game so I can rant about how awesome the ending is and how amazingly it ties to the rest of the series!

And Red, the Sky in SS was perfect the way it was!!!! Simple, fast, and responsive. I didn't like playing songs just to go in the direction I wanted to go *every single time* it got old fast. Still, Wind Waker was an awesome game.

Zelda gets on my nerves too. Mostly the way they develop her character, though. It just seems that in the beginning she's this awesome, strong, snarky girl and then somehow she gets to this point where instead of helping Link she is sort of running away from him, and then she goes and sticks herself in some crystal thingy because it's 'her destiny' or whatever. I prefer the snarky Zelda from the beginning of the game.

It's not that she's happy and peppy, she's just a bit...silly. Tetra was pretty peppy, but she was also badass.

These almost kissing scenes are irritating, I agree. I spent the whole first section of the game (on skyloft) making snarky commentary on their little flirty relationship.

That being said, Link is ALWAYS adorable when he has some sort of crush. He's so earnestly awkward.

My favourite Zelda personality is definitely Tetra-Zelda. However, my favourite appearance for Zelda was definitely Twilight-Zelda. Her design was really neat. By comparison, First-Zelda doesn't look as well designed in my opinion.

Adding the chainmail under Link's tunic, ever since TP, was a great move though. I always wondered how his tunic was able to protect him xD

Best Sidekicks (Nayab's opinion)
3. Dmitri (Oracle of Ages)
2. Zelda's Ghost (Spirit Tracks)
1. Midna (Twilight Princess)

Midna wins.

Midna wins a lot.

Midna for the win.

Although in terms of sidekicks, I'm quite partial to Linebeck and Ciela from Phantom Hourglass. However, I just love that game. xD
