Spontaneous Melancholies
Sometimes life is just terrible. This is a thread for detailing to your fellow antioxidants of the grape juice what dreadful thing happened to you today. The only principle to this thread, I think, is that there's no such thing as whining. Lately, I've begun to think, that as humans, it's our fundamental right to be sad. We can't compare our suffering to others' suffering, because where do we draw the line? I mean, technically, having a dead dog is nowhere near as having your city being decimated from the air by your own government, but it's still pretty awful isn't it? Granted, there are limitations, I suppose, but we can hammer those out in the thread if we want.
We deserve the right to suffer, so we can find out that through time(or friends like us, I suppose) that being a human is generally a pretty wonderful thing.

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
THE PONDS ARE LEAVING! NOOOOOOO!
I haven't had a celebrity crush since Summer Glau in Firefly (unless you count my manly man-crush on Robert Downey Jr.). Karen Gillan is so ridiculously attractive! Why must she leave?
Also Rory. He's pretty awesome too.
(My favourite companion is actually Martha Jones though. Amy is gorgeous, but not my favourite character.)
Ah well, it's not nearly as sad as David Tenant leaving. Or what happened to Ianto in Torchwood
I hope the Ponds get a happy ending though. Don't want them killed off!

I feel like Martha got the best adventures. I mean, Blink, the Year That Never Was, Human Nature?
Oh Vot.
Donna, though, still keeps her place as my favorite companion though.
Twenty minutes 'till the West Coast loses the Ponds...

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
This has been an awful week.
And it's really complicated, but in general, it's been really bad. I think it's getting better, but life is just HARD. It's also one of those things that I have to deal with by myself, which makes things even more difficult. And also, it's a bad that will be fixed, but it's a slow fix, which scares me.
People are so complicated and confusing...

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
People are just about the least rational creatures on the planet. Why is it that humankind prides itself on its ability to reason, yet is so oft to be unreasonable? I hope everything sorts itself out soon Areada.

ROSE TYLER. Best. Companion. Ever. Then Donna, then Amy and Rory then Martha. David Tennent is best doctor ever. I cried when they all left.
I will miss Amy and Rory, but they've been on way too long. I still haven't watched this season. They'd better get a happy ending, though, or I'm going to give England a piece of my mind.

You should probably spoiler tag that.
I have so much homework this week, for some reason that makes me sad, even though it's not all that unusual.

I feel ya, Red. *sigh* Every day I get up, look at my homework for the day, and either want to go back to bed, or feel like my life is going nowhere because I will never. finish. the. homework.

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
So much dry reading xP It helps to set specific timeslots to read them in. I also need to find six spare hours to watch missed lectures in. I could have watched one today but... I didn't. Which is totally my fault because I consciously decided not to xP
Sometimes the sheer amount of work makes you wonder why you're even pursuing higher education. Social expectation? Pursuit of knowledge? Career training? Eh?
But it's also fun! When it isn't exhausting...

Okay, four words coming up...
Angry Birds Star Wars
Reactions? Mine was "... ... ... O_o"
Honey + Mustard = Awesome
Fish Fingers + Custard = Questionable, But Fine
Angry Birds + Star Wars = Worst. Idea. Ever.
Why? Just... why?
Well, we all know the reason actually.
The green stuff!
Spinach!

The end is nigh...
Disney has acquired LucasFilm.
My most beloved franchise is doomed.

I heard about that. And the Star Wars Episode 7. Seriously, I don't think that they can do any worse than that abomination that was Episode 2. Maybe they'll actually get good actors this time.

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
At this point, I'm thinking Disney might actually be an improvement...
Although, with my knowledge about what happens after the end of Episode 6, I am a bit worried...
Although, I'm not actually that huge of a Star Wars fan, it mostly rubbed off from my brother.

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
As long as I have the original trilogy theatrical release version, I will be pretty happy. None of the newish, iffy stuff can mar that. : )
Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
But what it they retcon expanded universe stuff! The Yuzaan Vong war! Jacen and Jaina Solo! I don't mind a new movie if it follows the expanded universe. But if they screw up the expanded universe, the sky is going to burn with nerd rage!
NERD RAGE!
That's the third most rageful type of rage!

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
I have nothing against the expanded universe stuff. But it also confuses me and I can't keep track of it. *sigh*
There has already been a lot of nerd rage over the Star Wars franchise though. *sigh*
Lots of sighing. I think it's this Chemistry pre-lab I have to finish. There's my melancholy. Too much homework...

Re: Spontaneous Melancholies
Yeah, that era is really confusing.... xD That's why I prefer to Old Republic era, where everything makes sense. The Rise of the Empire era, Rebellion era, and New Republic era are all squished together and difficult to keep track of.
Still, the Han Solo trilogy is awesome! Covers his entire career from childhood right up until he enters the Mos Eisley Cantina at the beginning of A New Hope.

I always figured if I was going to look at the extended universe stuff it would involve Han Solo. xD

OH.My.Gosh.
My incredibly stupid pumpkin is incredibly annoying. I have spent the last half-an-hour wrestling with it. So far three things have snapped off. And all I'm carving is the Portal Cake. SIMPLE. But NO! The universe just loves proving me wrong by having my pumpkin snap EVERY SINGLE TIME I CUT IT!
ARGH!!!!!
